Sports Medicine & Kinesio Taping
In the summer of 2004, Dr. Shapiro became only the 9th chiropractor ever selected to the medical staff of any United States Olympic event. As an
official member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic medical team, Dr. Shapiro provided his expertise to nearly 550 American athletes participating in the 2004
Summer Olympic in Athens, Greece. Nearly two years later, he became the first chiropractor named to the medical staff of a second U.S. Olympic team when
he was selected by the United States Olympic Committee to work with more than 220 U.S. athletes competing in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
Kinesio Taping is a procedure that utilizes a special tape that helps to support chiropractic adjustments while still allowing for free range
of motion within the muscles. The tape is very thin and the wave like glue pattern allows the skin to be lifted from the affected area.

Wellness Center
At Plaza Chiropractic Center, Dr. Ira Shapiro, DC, DACBSP, ICSSD, FICC has
over 35 years of experience working with patients in Middlesex County, Monmouth County and all
over the world. At Plaza Chiropractic Center, we address the underlying cause
of disease by focusing on the patient as a whole rather than only treating
isolated sets of symptoms. We take the time to listen to our patients
in order to determine their health histories including genetic, lifestyle and
environmental factors that can influence long-term health & well-being.

Pediatric Chiropractic
The majority of people are unaware that infants and children have just as much need for chiropractic care as adults due. Infants are
susceptible to a wide range of possible ailments related to slow or traumatic birth and c-sections. Children particularly need pediatric
chiropractic care as they age because a lot of the problems we experience as adults actually come from our childhood. Posture problems
particularly result from spending many hours in front of a computer or television or playing rough or carrying backpacks all day long at school.
Our staff is specially trained in Pediatric Chiropractic and can help to ensure a healthy spine during the critical growth process of your children.

Massage Therapy
Chiropractic care and massage therapy go hand-in-hand. Massages extend the benefits of a chiropractic adjustment. By getting a massage either
pre or post adjustment you will experience decreased muscle tension, increased flexibility and longer benefits from the adjustment. Just as
massage therapy extends the benefits of an adjustment, chiropractic care also extends the benefits of a massage. When you receive a massage without
an adjustment, you are more likely to go back to the massage therapist with similar complaints due to only temporary relief of the symptoms.
While both treatments have many benefits alone, they are much more effective and provide a more long-term and comprehensive benefits together.
